- Do you have a writer on your list? If so, Jami Gold has the Ultimate Gift Guide for Writers. Psst, honey, check it out.
- Are you on a budget with a writer on your list? Then you must check out K.M. Weiland’s 25 “Under $25” Christmas Gifts for Writers. Psst, wee beasties, check it out.
- Just a reminder: Maria Zannini’s DIY 12 Days of Christmas continues through the 22nd.
There are giveaways 🙂 Hope you’ll stop by! - A huge congrats to Lindsay Buroker for her RT Book Reviews mention!
- This past week has been a huge epic failure for ROW80. I apologize for my silence! The power cord to my laptop died. My life is on that laptop, LOL. I can’t access Facebook or Twitter from the ancient — can you hear it groaning? — desktop. Trying to read and comment on blogs was a frustrating exercise I gave up on most days. Really need to spend some quality time cleaning out, upgrading the memory, etc. on this poor machine but considering it is coming up on nine years of age and still working, it has surpassed its life expectancy so I shouldn’t complain.
- On the writing: I can access my backups via email but can’t print from the desktop. And as the desktop is also the wee beasties’ computer, I’ve been hard pressed to get on it to work, LOL. So, I’ve attempted to do some writing and outlining by hand but even that has been more fail than success this week.
- So thankful I got most of my posts finalized and scheduled before I lost the power cord.
- And winter break has begun. My house is full of the not so quiet stomping and yelling of the wee beasties. Seriously, why can’t they WALK down the stairs? Must they slide down the banister, swing around the landing, and take flying leaps? For an example, you can check out Jenny Hansen’s When Your Baby Scares the Stuffing Out of You post, a typical banister sliding morning is in the comments, LOL
- Don’t forget to stop by on Tuesday when the Foxie with Moxie Pair will be here as part of the Bayard/Lamb Campaign Blog Tour.
- I apologize for the lack of a picture with Beastie Girl modeling her new sweater. By the time I got home Saturday from errands — I have a power cord, yay! — and Christmas shopping she was less than thrilled with me. And strangely in need of a bath.

Thanks for the mention, Raelyn!
Glad you got a new power cord. The laptop is an essential writing tool! I accidentally fried my macbook’s power cord last winter (apparently they’re not supposed to dangle in front of the heat vent–who knew?) and had to overnight a replacement. I can’t believe the cost (Macs, of course, have those proprietary mag-lock power cords, so it’s not like you can just grab one from the local store, oh, no). I’m staying away from those heat vents these days!

Are you kidding? I think it’s awesome! I would have commented on your post (I’ll try to get over there today) but for the desktop issues I was having.
Our Fry’s has a Mac store inside it now! That Man and I were shocked. After seeing some of the prices in there it made me really glad I have a regular ol’ PC laptop, not a Mac, and was able to get a universal power cord without breaking the budget 🙂
Thanks for stopping by Lindsay.

Ahhh… the Christmas fun in full swing. I feel your pain/adoration! Ha. My boys have school until Friday…they have an early dismissal. Then, the vacation begins. They made snowmen cookies yesterday and we’re going to dip chocolate covered pretzels today. They will have fun…..
I’m nearly done shopping – I have some last minute things to grab. But I still need to wrap. Gads! I always say I won’t wait until the last minute. Grrr….
I cannot wait to read Jenny Hansen’s post. I’ve had my stuffing scared out of me a few times. I can laugh now….
I will def check out K.M. Weiland’s writer gifts! I’m still gushing over ‘Outlining Your Book’…Loved it!
Have a great Christmas!

It takes a lot to scare the stuffin’ out of me these days, LOL. But one day I’ll roll my eyes and they’ll get stuck!
I wrap as the gifts come in, it’s the only way I can stay on top of them. Plus, the wee beasties like to search out the gifts and if they aren’t wrapped the surprise is spoiled.
Have a great Christmas Nadja and thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for the link! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you that you get some good stuff this year. 🙂 Good luck with your computer and the wee beasties!

You’re welcome. Loved your list.
LOL, computer is back up and running. So are the wee beasties actually…
Thanks for stopping by Jami.

Now that my sister and I are both home for the holidays, I feel the teensiest bit bad for my mom. The house was lovely and spotless and peaceful when I got in, and between the kid and me, it’s loud and noisy and sort of messy. I’ve been trying hard to keep the kitchen counters as spotless as they were when I arrived, and I’m trying to remember to do things like clean my hair out of the bathtub, but… my memory definitely isn’t so hot. 😉
Glad to hear that you’ve gotten yourself a new power cord! My life is also on my laptop, though I’ve been trying to back things up to Dropbox and Google docs, just in case anything happens (crossing fingers, knocking on wood, etc. that things do not happen).
Have a great week, Raelyn!

I have four different email addresses and back of to them so that if I have a crash I can retrieve the data. And by rotating between the email addresses I have a back up of the back up, LOL.
Enjoy your holiday Lena and thanks for stopping by.

Wow, Raelyn, sounds like wee beastie fun times are set to ‘adrenaline rush’ in your neck of the woods.
Perhaps fate played it’s part in that whole ‘power cord death’. Enjoy some of the unplanned downtime. 🙂
Raelyn Barclay said:
LOL, “adrenaline rush” about covers it. But moments like right now when I’m listening to littlest beastie singing, very off key and missing words, every Christmas song he can think of makes the ‘herd of elephant’ moments worth it 😀
Thanks for stopping by Angela.

Wow, if I stayed without my laptop for a week, I would go nuts! Glad you got a power cord 😉
I know a house full can get a little too stressed sometimes, but these are the good times, the memory makers … enjoy them, have fun!
Have a nice week 😉
Raelyn Barclay said:
Who said anything about NOT being nuts? LOL They are good times, crazy, loud, and wonderful 🙂
Thanks for stopping by Juliana.

We are not on break yet, but we have the flying down banisters going on. It doesn’t help that there are treats every day! Ugh, can’t they limit the sugar just a little.
Raelyn Barclay said:
LOL. The flying down stairs must be a boy thing 🙂 We had one day of sugar overdose on Friday when everyone had their parties. Of course that’s not counting the baking treats here in the house 🙂
Thanks for stopping by Ciara.
