Gone Scrappin’ Sunday

Yesterday, I went to the first ever Las Vegas Creating Keepsakes Convention.

SQUEEE!!!

I used to go to this every year in Oregon. And I have been missing this inspiration, creative outlet, mingling of like-minded peeps since moving to Sin City.

Yesterday, I reconnected with a friend I first met online.

Yesterday, sparked a wee scrappin’ fest.

So, pardon the shortness and randomness of this post…I have glue on my fingers! See you Tuesday to talk about pets in fiction :D

I have a ton of scrapbooking stuff that I don’t have time to use. :( I seem to keep buying it. I was excited to recently use it. At a wedding shower, I was in charge of collecting recipes from each guest and making a quick scrapbook page with a laminator and my paper, charms, quotes, etc. I worked so hard that day, but she left with a recipe book that had quotes about women and girlfriends on every page. The laminator worked well and then we had a spiral side punch to bind it!

What an awesome gift Brinda! I remember getting a ton of recipe cards from my wedding shower but they were just stuck in with all my others and now I have no idea who gave me which, etc. And to have quotes too… Fabulous.

      Thanks for sharing Brinda :)

Sounds like fun! I have a whole tub of scrapbook/stamping stuff I bought 10+ years ago when the oldest was a baby. I just didn’t get into it before the next kids came and it fell by the wayside. Hope you’re having a wonderful creative time!

If my scrapbook stuff could fit in a single tub That Man would be thrilled, LOL. Half the closet of our guest room (also my writing space) is taken up by scrapbook stuff. Once That Man gets his sports memorabilia out of the other side my sewing, knitting, and cross-stitch stuff will go in and this room will be mine, barring visitors :D

Pull that stuff out and let the girls scrap their own stories…my boys love doing that. Thanks for swinging by Joely :)

I have the stuff to do my vacation album. It’s the only pictures I put into books anymore. After I get done with Camp, I’m going to work on it. I decided to do a small one for my 40th bday too. My mil took quite a few pics, so I printed some out. Will have to send you some pics of how it turns out. Happy Scrapping!! :)

There’s nothing better than being able to mingle with people who share your interests. I hope you’ll post some pictures of your finished pieces. I think your creations are amazing. It’s nothing short of 3D art.

Thank you. I do love the tactile aspect of the craft.

I’ll have to think about posting. Keeping the wee beasties’ privacy was one of the reasons for the pen name, especially now that #1 is on FB.

Thanks for swinging by Maria :)

A couple years ago I went to a free starter class on scrapbooking (I’m not naturally crafty and had no idea about all the available tools), and even bought a few things at the local craft store later, but sadly I haven’t had time to follow through. I really admire the beautiful scrapbooks that some people put together, and it seems so relaxing and fun.

I have so much invested in this now I think That Man would divorce me if I stopped, LOL. The thing is you really don’t need all that much to capture the memories. It is a lot of fun if you don’t pressure yourself to scrap every photo or every event. I’ll never be “caught” up and I like it that way.

Thanks for swinging by Marcy :)
