The only book by Cassandra Clare, that I read, was Clockwork Angel. Never read the Mortal Instruments series, though I’m hoping to read them soon. So I was thrilled when Clockwork Prince came out. I just finished reading this book. And I don’t know if it is because my brain was in a hard-wired state of revising, but I stumbled over so many places because I kept trying to delete “had” or reword a verb so that it was less passive. It was a little weird.

My current read is Hit List by Laurel K. Hamilton. First let me say that I loved the early Anita Blake stories. I like shooting and shifting and guts and blood. I am not a psychopath…I promise. Then, the stories focused on her role as a succubus with so many lovers that I couldn’t keep track. An online friend suggested I pick back up on this series and read this one. I love the action scenes in this book, but they sure talk a lot. All Anita’s conversations are with men and quite lengthy. I think my husband would tune Anita out after five minutes. Just a thought.

I haven’t read this series, mostly because I came across it so late in the game the idea of tackling it overwhelmed me. I hear what you’re saying about the conversations with men, LOL, if mine lasts more than 5 minutes in a non-work related conversation I count myself lucky.

      Thanks for stopping by Brinda!

I’m running late this morning. Stayed up reading Alexandra Sokoloff’s The Price and didn’t want to put it down last night but sleep called. Now I have to get stuff done before I can get back to it…no fair :stomps foot like a two-year-old: LOL

I have no idea if this would be considered horror or if it’s one of her thrillers. I’m totally engrossed though :)

I’ve got an Alexandra Sokoloff novel I still need to read. She was at the conference I attended last year. Loved her. Intelligent, knowledgeable and honest.

I recently started Anna Karenina. Talk about a different style of writing. I’m having a difficult time getting into it, but determined to read it. I’ve started researching for a new book also, so I’m going to count that towards my 100 books in a year. Looks like I’ll end up reading the whole book :)

    Have a happy 4th Raelyn!

Alexandra Sokoloff’s blog is a must read for me. I agree intelligent, knowledgeable, and honest sum her up. This is the second or third book of hers I’ve read…she sucks me in every time.

Oh I definitely count reading for research toward my overall reading goal as long as I don’t just skim the research book. I’ve tried to read Anna Karenina twice, got a little further in the second time but I’ve yet to get all the way through. One day :)

      Thanks for stopping by Melanie!

I just finished Ted Dekker’s Circle Series – 4 books – and loved it. Now I’m just about done Fifty Shades of Grey triology – pretty good. Easy read but the sex almost gets a wee bit distracting. No one bangs that much – I’m sorry! LOL!!! But still an enjoyable read.
Next, I’ll be reading Souled by our very own Diana Murdock and I am dying to read Steena Holmes Finding Emma.

I’ve got Finding Emma on one of my eReaders too. So many books…

I’m on the fence about 50 Shades of Grey. I’ve read some excellent BDSM books so my bar may be set too high to enjoy the books. I’ll have to look into that Circle Series. You’re the second or third person to mention it recently.

      Thanks for weighing Natalie :)

I”m getting ready to delve into ‘When A Man Marries’. I found it as an older title revamped and readied for Kindle. I hope it proves a good read. I read ‘The Magnificient Ambersons’…and it was fabulous. The same site recommended both, so I’m hoping for another win!

Love that. I’ve been doing the same, picking up older titles released as an ebook. I haven’t heard of When a Man Marries so will have to check that out :)

      Thanks for stopping by Nadja!
