In the midst of craziness at work, we’re in the middle of a HUGE project with a deadline of this Friday, AND back to school stuff I got in that ever elusive me time. Probably a good thing too. This weekend has been the mad rush to finalize all the school shopping. This coming week will involve the school orientations for the boys, two of which are going into new schools. And at least three people will be out of the office this week for a conference…oy.
Writing/Editing:
- Morning Pages for a minimum of 250 words or half hour, whichever comes first, 6 days per week. – 973 words/3 days (Hey, it’s half the goal, and I may still get more after scheduling this post.)
- Fiction, at least an hour each week. It can be brainstorming, plotting, writing, or editing. – Nope.
- Post three times a week here on the blog. – Yep, there was There Be Green on This Summary on Sunday, spewed beverages with Innuendo Bingo on Tuesday, and meet the Guardian of Water on Thursday.
Reading:
- A minimum of 10 books to stay on track for 100 books this year. – 6 thus far. I finished The Dream You Make
by Christine Nolfi.
- Update Goodreads at least every other week. – Nope.
Support/Social Media:
- Visit and comment on at least 12 blogs each week. – 11 this week and close enough to call a win, plus I may still get some in after scheduling the post.
- One non-blog related post per week on Facebook and Twitter. – Twitter, yes. Facebook, no.
- One share, re-tweet, whatnot per week on Facebook and Twitter. – Facebook, yes. Twitter, no.
Non-Writery Stuff:
- Exercise three times per week. – Nope.
- Family day, no working and time with family, one day per week. – Yep.
- Allow myself an hour each week for me time. – This was a me week, I took myself to Dirty Dancing at the cinema and a friend showed up. Good times. Plus, I enjoyed a spa day with my boss and co-workers.
Be sure to check out, support, the other ROWers.
Making time for you is a must. You can’t be any good to anyone when you’ve run yourself ragged. So good for you 🙂
And it looks like you got quite bit accomplished as well.
Very true Angela. Hopefully it will translate into some fiction work, too.
Thanks for stopping by!
It always make me laugh when I see your “exercise” goal. With all those boys I imagine you run around enough for three people. I’d say you can cross off exercise every week. 😀
LOL, true. However, the goal is for the more focused exercise because the chasing after boys exercise rarely targets the areas I need to target. Though we did get a nice bike ride in yesterday after I scheduled the post, so I could say I got one day in last week 😀
Thanks for swinging by Maria!
Holy cow, you had a crazy week, and another crazy one coming up, it looks like. You did well to accomplish what you did, aside from that! Good luck this week, and hope things settle enough for you to get more “you” time in!
It actually sounds crazier than it felt and I’m sure I’ll regret saying that, LOL.
Thanks for stopping by Jennette!
Hooray for me time! I love having time to recharge.
Always good, isn’t it 😀
Thanks for swinging by Nicole!
Lots of green in there, Raelyn! I’m so glad you got that ME time. It’s so important that I get that, but it’s not always easy to carve it out. I had a wonderful week. Looking forward to another good one! (Which involves registering my kids for school 🙂 )
Best wishes for a marvelous week!
Thankfully, the boys are registered. However, I’m sure I’ll have writer’s cramp by the end of the week with all the forms we’ll have to fill after orientations, LOL.
Thanks for stopping by Julie!
We are in the school rush as well, although I’ve only one still in high school–the rest of us are all out buying supplies for the college semester starting tomorrow. Still a busy time trying to get everything prepared, especially alongside of work and writing and everything else a week brings. Deep breath, the “me time” seems like a good idea, just for the sake of sanity.
Have a fantastic week, Raelyn. 🙂
I don’t even want to think about university! :runs screaming from the room: LOL
Thanks for stopping by Gene!
Recharging is good! Here’s hoping that once the boys are back in school you’ll have time for writing again. 🙂
Congrats on the goals you managed with such a busy week!
Yep, here’s hoping 🙂
Thanks for stopping by Ruth!
