What I See:

Gaian-Tarot-Guardian-EarthI love how the court cards alternate between male and female. This is a very Earthy card, the farmer taking care of his crop. It speaks to the typically female aspect of this card. Having struggled with gardening here in the desert, this card says perseverance to me. This image reminds me of my grandfather, an unassuming man at home in his little garden, patient and generous yet practical having come from a poor prairie family. We have the horse in the background, which according to the book represents strength and movement. “Horse will help with the hard work of farming, yet also carry us on our journeys.”

General Earth element/Pentacles suit:

Please refer back to the Ace of Earth.

Light (upright) Reading:

You are centered and secure.

  • Keywords: Generous, Perseverance, Prosperity, Fertility, or Sensibility.

Shadow (upside down or reverse) Reading:

Beware of overindulgence, and reluctance.

  • Keywords: Materialistic, Narrow, Hardened, Rigid, or Conformity.

Obvious stories surrounding farming or gardening come to mind. Perhaps a greenhouse or florist? Homesteading? Eking out an existence on an alien planet?

Perhaps, your tale is about another kind of fertility? Or lack thereof?

Pentacles is the money and material suit, perhaps jump on the billionaire train with a wealthy/struggling-to-stay-ahead-of-the-bills pairing. Or maybe a rags to riches tale. Maybe teach the spoiled, born with a silver spoon character humility.

  • Guardian Themes: Understanding, Persuasion, Communication, Teaching, Nurturing, Emotional Awareness, Creativity, Intuition, or Leadership.

In Tarot for Writers, Corrine Kenner says the Queen of Pentacles “is intensely physical, sensual, primal, lusty, and tactile.” Sounds like the ingredients for an erotic tale 😉

“I value good health and financial security, and enjoy providing for myself and my family.” ~Joanna Powell Colbert

  • Suit Archetype/Feudal Class: Merchants, Business, and Professional class.

MBTI: ISFJ (Introverted Sensing Feeling Judging)

The nine-point personality enneagram can also be useful for character building.

  • Narcissistic Trap — Security

E6 people are ruled by their head. They need to understand the pattern of events, where all the pieces fit in the puzzle of life, and are often detached from their emotions. Their objectivity may hide feelings of isolation or confusion.

Additionally, look up one of the Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) for personality traits.
