As I type this, we’re in the middle of a SPECTACULAR thunder-lightning storm!
If I had a fireplace, even though this humidity kills that idea, I’d be curled up with a book, a plate of brownies, and a cuppa tea.
One can dream.
On to this week…
Where the heck did the month go?!
Can you believe it’s September already? We survived the first week of school, barely. Getting oldest up and out the door has cut into my D&E time substantially. Definitely need to work out a better morning schedule.
And I had more “assignments” than the wee beasties!
I may not be doing the fire and book thing but I did reward myself with a plate of brownies 😀
Join the Howl!!
Coyote Con is moving forward for this October. Joely sent out the intro email this week. If you’d like to be on a panel or volunteer to help with the Con, and didn’t get that email, let me know and I’ll forward a copy to you.
Registration is open!
This ROW80 check-in feels a bit skinny but doesn’t look too bad (color me ah-mazed).
Writing/Editing:
- Morning Pages for a minimum of 250 words or half hour, whichever comes first, 6 days per week. – 940 words/3 days.
- Fiction, at least an hour each week. It can be brainstorming, plotting, writing, or editing. – Nope.
- Post three times a week here on the blog. – Yep, there was saved by System Restore on Sunday, The Wee Beasties Are Back to School on Tuesday, and introduced my new favorite app: Galaxy Tarot on Thursday.
Reading:
- A minimum of 10 books to stay on track for 100 books this year. – No change from last week, 6 thus far. Though I did have two DNF, sigh.
- Update Goodreads at least every other week. – Nope.
Support/Social Media:
- Visit and comment on at least 12 blogs each week. – 17 this week, whee.
- One non-blog related post per week on Facebook and Twitter. – Twitter, yes. Facebook, no.
- One share, re-tweet, whatnot per week on Facebook and Twitter. – Twitter and Facebook, yes.
Non-Writery Stuff:
- Exercise three times per week. – 1 day of yoga…guess it’s better than the nothing that has dominated this goal this round.
- Family day, no working and time with family, one day per week. – Yep.
- Allow myself an hour each week for me time. – Nope.
Be sure to check out, support, the other ROWers.
I’ve been a bad friend. I missed almost a whole week on catching up with people. I got most of my to-do list done but there are still a few stragglers to take care of before the day is done.
Meanwhile, count me present and accounted for. LOL! No brownies for me though. I put myself on a diet a couple of weeks ago and gave up all sweets. 😦
Off to catch up on your other posts.
No worries. I know you’ve had a ton going on! Not to mention hubby being home :wink, wink, nudge, nudge:
For the most part I’ve given up sweets but in the midst of that storm…brownies just hit the spot. Of course, the pan is almost empty this morning. Darn wee beasties, LOL.
Thanks for swinging by Maria!
With school starting back, I’m also needing to figure out the best schedule to get things done. I’m glad you’re getting in some greens for your goals, thought.Progress is cool.
Just when we think we have a grip on it, it changes, LOL.
Thanks for stopping by Angela!
Definitely some good progress in there, Raelyn! Especially since I know how the parents get the lion’s share of homework that first week of school with all of the forms and supply purchases. Best wishes with your goals!
I was definitely ready for the long weekend that’s for sure, LOL.
Thanks for stopping by Julie!
Ah….school! I totally get the “homework” thing, Raelyn. We’re homeschooling (sort of…). Our son wants to go to school part time, but NYS still calls that homeschooling and the paperwork we’ve got (forms for the private school, forms for the homeschooling documentation…
Weren’t we supposed to be moving toward a paperless society years ago? 😀
Looks like some wonderful progress in some areas. Slower in others, but when big changes in home schedules happen, that’s natural. Things will settle soon enough.
Kudos for doing ANY level of homeschooling! My hat is off to you Eden. I figured out pretty early I was not cut out for that, LOL.
I’m trying to work through Gene Lempp’s Time and Productivity posts, hopefully something will click 🙂
Thanks for stopping by.
Oh, Gene Lempp’s posts… He’s amazing, how he get so much done and is organized… Kudos to you!
As for the kudos to me… It’s what works for what family. I love having my son at home, but I also appreciate those days he’s at school or camp and I get to be home alone (rare treasures!). We all find our balance.
Glad I did stop in.
I think you did great considering it was back-to-school week. It always takes time to work out the new routines and schedules. Keep up the good work!
It’s definitely a juggling act, LOL.
Thanks for stopping by Kim!
