Are you ready for some football?
I’m not a huge fan but even I get into the Super Bowl. We have the Pepsi vs. Diet Pepsi field laid out the table, the snakes are staged, and the males in my house are chomping at the bit for the game to start.
I have to admit I was sucked in to the hype earlier this year with the Seahawks vs. 49ers game. I would have been thrilled with either team winning. San Francisco being the team of my childhood and Seattle the Pacific Northwest team.
We did a pool at work so I have money riding on this one, LOL
And just for Melanie, the Seahawks are gonna stomp your Broncos 😈
I apologize for dropping the blogging ball this week. I really must work on building up that queue! Okay, on to the ROW80 part of today.
Yearly Goals
- I have once again registered on Goodreads to read 100 books. However, this may change as I plan to put writing before reading this year.
- Lose 50 pounds. I slacked off the last part of 2013, ’nuff said. – Down 2.8 pounds this week (4.2 total).
Quarterly (AKA ROW80) Goals
- Draft the Steampunk story I attempted for NaNo 2013. Oh, and figure out a title.
- Read Who Are You in the Tarot?
by Mary K. Greer and do the applicable exercises. – Read two chapters, no exercises yet.
Monthly Goals
- Read, at least, one paper book. With the ease of carrying my eReaders around my poor paper books have been neglected. – Goal attained for January. Read Desire’s Edge
by Eden Bradley writing as Eve Berlin this week.
- At least, one date night with That Man. – Goal attained for January. We had a nice dinner out Friday.
Weekly Goals:
- Spend a minimum of 3 hours per week on writing. – Not attained.
- Maintain 3 blog posts per week. – Not attained.
- Visit and comment on at least 12 blogs per week, 3 of which HAVE to be ROW80 blogs. – Target attained (21/4 ROW blogs).
- Connect on Facebook and Twitter with, at least, one non-blog post or share per week. – Target attained.
- Maintain books read on Goodreads. – Target attained.
- Exercise 3 times per week. – Not attained.
You can find and support other ROWers HERE.
Do you put out a big Superbowl spread for the boys?
PS Hope you win the pool!
Oh, yes. There is a huge spread, considering it is just us, and chili in the crockpot for dinner 🙂
It is a very random pool. One of those where you pick square then once all the squares have been picked numbers 0 to 9 are drawn at random. There will be quarterly winners plus the final score winner. It should make watching the game more fun, LOL.
Thanks for swinging by Maria.
I KNOW you did not just go there!!! LOL. I can’t smack talk until after the game, so all I’m going to say is GO BRONCOS!!!!!! 🙂 Hope the menfolk have fun watching the game. We’re watching with family. Should be interesting.
Oh, I so went there 👿 and I have your number! LOL
GO SEAHAWKS!!
See you on the other end Mel.
With a house full of men, you have to be ready for some football.
Chipmunk and I will have a quiet day. Or sort of quiet. She may have her BFF over so I’ll be quietly writing with the occasional “Hey, turn that Minecraft down a bit.”
Good luck to both teams and to you for working towards meeting your goals.
Oy, the Minecraft music! That’s the worst, LOL.
Thanks for swinging by Angela.
All the Super Bowl means to me is that Spring Training is about to start, but I hope you have a good time this evening.
Years ago, I put $5 into a football pool, and Mary said “There’s $5 gone!” I wrote her name in the squares. Turns out she won $50.
LOL, I’m the proverbial sports widow. It doesn’t matter to That Man, football, basketball, baseball, hockey, golf…if it’s televised, he’s watching it, it trumps all else.
Thanks for stopping by John.
