Let’s talk books!
Just Read
A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux
Why I picked it up: It came up in relation to something else but I can’t remember the details. The time-travel definitely sold me on it.
What I liked: I did enjoy the story. It was almost like two stories. The first half had the hero coming forward, which I thoroughly enjoyed. While the second half had the heroine going backward. The characters were well developed with hints of reincarnation. The heroine starts out a bit whiny, almost to the point of too stupid to live, until the reader realizes she’s been sucked into an additive relationship and has no self-confidence. Deveraux’s intensive research is clear and she blended it seamlessly into the tale.
What I disliked: The style didn’t agree with me, probably due to this being an older book with a different writing/editing style then I’ve become used to. It felt like omnipresent trying to be deep POV which didn’t work for me. In fact, there were a number of spots I’d have called the author on head-hopping had I been beta reading this.
Reading
Forever His: A Time-Travel Romance by Shelly Thacker
Why I picked it up: Time-travel plus it was (and still is) free. I believe it’s the first in the Stolen Brides Series, and yes, I’ll be checking the rest of the series out.
What I like: This has the deep POV the previous book did not. There’s great sexual tension between the hero and heroine. The reasons they can’t be together are compelling. The historical details are woven nicely.
What I dislike: Nothing so far.
Will Read
Dreamlander by K.M. Weiland
Why I picked this up: I’ve been following this author, writers’ guru, for years.
What I expect to like: The writing style, the depth of the characters, and the visceral descriptions.
What I expect to dislike: I can’t think of anything.

I’m doing a little ARC reading on a middle grade story called The Eighth Day. Enjoying it so far. Got a ways to go as I’m slow going because I’m also writing a lot, or trying to at least lol!

I don’t read a lot of MG, too much of an old fart I think, LOL
Thanks for sharing Angela.
