We’re in the middle of Single Mum Land here at Casa de Barclay.
That Man is busier than a one-arm coat hanger. We’re two ships passing in the waterway. And whatever cliche you want to apply, LOL.
I seriously haven’t known if I was coming or going most of the week. What was I thinking to add house hunting and loan approval paperwork to the mix? OY.
Let’s see how this week measured up.
Yearly Goals
- I have once again registered on Goodreads to read 100 books. However, this may change as I plan to put writing before reading this year. – On Target.
- Lose 50 pounds. I slacked off the last part of 2013, ’nuff said. – Down 2.4 this week. Which I’m attributing to the new water app I downloaded.
Quarterly (AKA ROW80) Goals
- Draft the Steampunk story I attempted for NaNo 2013. Oh, and figure out a title.
- Read Who Are You in the Tarot?
by Mary K. Greer and do the applicable exercises. – Read two chapters, no exercises yet.
Monthly Goals
- Read, at least, one paper book. With the ease of carrying my eReaders around my poor paper books have been neglected. – Goal attained for January. Read Desire’s Edge
by Eden Bradley writing as Eve Berlin. Goal attained for February. Read A Knight in Shining Armor
by Jude Deveraux.
- At least, one date night with That Man. – Goal attained for January. Goal attained for February.
Weekly Goals:
- Spend a minimum of 3 hours per week on writing. – Not attained, but getting better by taking my computer to football practice.
- Maintain 3 blog posts per week. – Not attained.
- Visit and comment on at least 12 blogs per week, 3 of which HAVE to be ROW80 blogs. – Target attained (23/5 ROW blogs).
- Connect on Facebook and Twitter with, at least, one non-blog post or share per week. – Target attained, I think.
- Maintain books read on Goodreads. – Target attained.
- Exercise 3 times per week. – Not attained.

If you think it’s stressful now, wait until you start signing papers and putting your house on the market. My house was on the market for 3 months. Worst 3 months ever. Not only did I have to keep the house spotless, I had to load up all the dogs and leave the house when it was being shown.
To top it off I was dog-sitting for someone else too. I felt like a traveling circus.
Oh, this isn’t our first house rodeo, LOL. Though it may be the busiest. At least this time ’round That Man and I are in the same state while working the process!!
Thanks Maria 🙂
Well, I can at least say that I can feel your pain even though yours is certainly different than my own. I can only say that when things settle, and they will, eventually, it will be all to the good. Keeping and staying positive 🙂
Aw, to have just one, LOL. Aside from feeling like a chicken running around without my head, I feel pretty good about things on the home front. Writing is suffering but I also know this is temporary.
Thanks Angela 🙂
“New water app”? Do tell.
I hear you on being busier than anticipated. It seems that’s a common thread.
You can do a search for water drinking apps, there’s quite the selection. I’m currently trying Hydro. Set measurement units, your current weight and activity level, and the app reminds you to drink water using alarms. It’s really been helping me hit the water intake goal, especially at home.
Thanks Nicole 🙂
I’ve been slacking with my water intake and I felt it this weekend. Hoping the house hunting and all associated aspects go smooth and quickly.
I think 2014 is the year of chaos. Seems like quite a few people I know are having upheavals of both the good and bad variety. ~hugs~ to you and the brood. Maybe it will all be over before the desert heat kicks in.
Quickly isn’t a priority as we don’t have a deadline and our focus can be finding that perfect house.
It does seem to be a crazier than usual year. Of course, it is all relative, right?
Thanks Mel 🙂
Good luck with your house hunt. Hubby and I are currently saving up for a down payment. I know it’s stressful, but hopefully you can get some excitement out of the process as well.
Have a great week, Raelyn! 🙂
Yeah, the down payment is killer. Best of luck with your home process.
Thanks Denise 🙂
House hunting and loan approval? You’re doing great to be on target with as many of your goals as you are! Keep up the good work, and good luck!
Thank Jennette. It is a wee crazier than usual, LOL.
