- The writing: I’ve revised. I’ve searched and destroyed (though I’ll need to do at least one more of these). I’ve fiddled. I’ve deleted. I’ve moved. I’ve tweaked. I’ve revised again. OY! Yesterday, I sent the MS to the ol’ e-reader, read through it, and made notes. Hoping I’ve finally cut it down to where it needs to be for the sub call but as of typing up this post I haven’t had a chance to implement the notes.
- I’d love to get at least one more beta reader. This is a SFR, 1st person POV, sitting at 36K as of typing this post (needs to be under 35K for the call). If you’re interested please drop me an email to BuriedNWords [at] gmail [dot] com. Thanks!
- The blogging: still maintaining that week’s worth of cushion.
- The social media: sorry folks. Number one on the ol’ list has been monopolizing my time. Hope to catch up soon.
- That
evilbrilliant Jenny Hansen convinced me to join Triberr. (Be sure to check out Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4 because Jenny is a master at navigating the techie waters.) I’ll probably start a Tarot Tribe once I’m more comfortable with the site 🙂 - Last year Jennifer Probst talked about the importance of joining Goodreads.
- Yeah, guess what I did? :head desk:
- The health: epic fail. Sigh.
- Must find balance…

Ref: beta reader
Send it to me. I might be able to get to it this week.
Raelyn Barclay said:
Aww, you are a doll. Thanks so much Maria!!!

Girl, you are rocking out the WIP! I love it. Keep up the great work and don’t worry about the whole social media thing – we’ll be here when your intense WIP time lessens. Besides you are killing the blog which totally ROCKS!!!
If it’s any consolation, I was an epic fail on exercise myself. LOL!!
Here’s to another BANG up week!
Raelyn Barclay said:
LOL, thanks Natalie. Your comments are always so bubbly and uplifting!

You are doing so awesome, Raelyn. I feel like such a slacker now. I’m just trying to catch up on blogging tonight. Those few days away in the mountains with no internet messed with my schedule, but it was worth it.:)
Raelyn Barclay said:
Mountains…what are those again? LOL. Thanks Ciara 🙂

Bangs head on desk…must find balance *laughing, literally* I think that should be taped to the top of my monitor, or maybe over the dent on my desk, so been there.
You’re doing great on the writing and that is the number one thing. Sure exercise and social media are good things, but the writing is the key and if the other stuff has to be on hold to accomplish it then so be it – no worries – no regrets.
Keep up the great progress, Raelyn. Have a great week 🙂
Raelyn Barclay said:
LOL, that’s why we all have minor concussions, eh? Thanks Gene!
Jenny Hansen said:
I agree with Gene – balance is the hardest thing of all. Most of the time I miss it by a mile, but on the weeks when I make it, I feel like a million bucks. 🙂

Raelyn, that’s wonderful that you did so much work on your number one goal. I’m taking a page from you this week and keeping my head in the manuscript instead of scattered all around. Keep on doing what you’re doing because your making awesome progress!
Raelyn Barclay said:
Looming deadline will do that, LOL. Thanks Sheila 🙂
Jenny Hansen said:
I’m completely impressed with you, Raelyn! This is a hell of a big job that you’re doing. I wish I had time to jump on the beta reading bandwagon, but I don’t right now.
THANK YOU for the linky love. I can’t decide if I prefer to be called “evil” or “brilliant.” LOL.
Raelyn Barclay said:
Thanks Jenny. Hoping this is just the first of many that will need beta readers 🙂 I’ll catch you later *I need an evil laughing smiley*
Well, you’re brilliant but also kind of evil for pointing out another social media do-dad 😀

Found it!
This is for you Jenny 😈

balance! the key to everything. congrats on all the headway you made this week, and for the things you didn’t get to? you can always start fresh on monday!!
Raelyn Barclay said:
That’s the hope Gina! Thanks 🙂

Raelyn, you are being so productive. True, not everything will get an even touch but I think that can be attributed to something slightly important, like…you know, you being human and all and the fact that there are only 24 hours in a day. So, the productivity you’ve shown in this post is remarkable.
And yes, balance is a must, something sought by us all. Oh the journey trying to get there 🙂
Raelyn Barclay said:
It is a journey for sure. If nothing else this experience is teaching me to work with deadlines. Thanks Angela 😀

You’re funny Raelyn! Searched and Destroyed. That’s one way of putting it. May the force be with you and have a terrific week! 🙂
Raelyn Barclay said:
LOL, must search out the dreaded ‘to be’ and destroy them 🙂 Thanks Karen.
